Description: This Batwing Utility was made Malachi Taylor, Mastersmith Shane Taylor's son. It is an excellent EDC knife, combining a keen, long lasting edge with a proven design.
The Batwing Utility is a tremendously comfortable knife and is perfect for hard use, but also will fit well in a collection. The handle provides a comfortable, secure grip, while the thin profile ensures that the knife will be easy to keep close at hand.
The blade is formed from ultra-high performance AEB-L stainless steel. Many knifemakers and metallurgists feel that AEB-L, with its small crystalline size, tremendous edge stability and toughness, is among the best stainless steels used in knifemaking today. AEB-L was developed for razor blades. Its fine grain structure makes it easy to sharpen while maintaining good edge holding capabilities. The high flat grind and slight recurve provide a very efficient cutting geometry.
Black G-10 scales are set on the full tang for strength and durability. The scales are nicely contoured for a secure, comfortable grip. The screws have been hand textured.
The knife is accompanied by a low profile Kydex sheath.
Nice work throughout!
