Description: Gary Rodewald is an outstanding bladesmith, creating knives with exceptional edge holding as well as exceptional beauty. This knife is sure to feel right at home in your collection!
Gary forged the blade to shape from W2 carbon steel. It features a hand rubbed satin finish and a razor sharp edge. It was heat treated using a traditional Japanese technique. The spine was coated with clay prior to quenching, which results in a softer, supportive spine with a keen, long lasting edge. The undulating heat treatment line is called a gunome hamon in Japan. The hamon is particularly dramatic. A distal taper means great balance in the hand.
The handle is made from black G10. It has been nicely contoured for a very comfortable grip. The brass guard and lanyard tube bring a warmth to the dark handle.
Includes a Kydex belt sheath to keep the knife close at hand.
Excellent finish throughout!
