Description: Gary Rodewald is an outstanding bladesmith, creating knives with exceptional edge holding as well as exceptional beauty. This knife is sure to feel right at home in your collection!
Gary forged the blade to shape from W2 carbon steel. It features a hand rubbed satin finish and a razor sharp edge. It was heat treated using a traditional Japanese technique. The spine was coated with clay prior to quenching, which results in a softer, supportive spine with a keen, long lasting edge. The undulating heat treatment line is called a gunome hamon in Japan. A distal taper means great balance in the hand.
The handle is made from stabilized mesquite that has been secured using a hand domed pin. The handle is completed with a nickel silver guard.
Accompanied by a hand stitched saddlery leather sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout!
