Description: Shane Taylor's Batwing Fighters have been a hallmark of his career. The sleek shape is exceptionally comfortable and maneuverable when held.
The W2 carbon steel blade was differentially heat treated using the traditional Japanese clay technique. This method results in a gently undulating transition line called a hamon. The spine and handle have both been hammer textured for a very dramatic appearance. The blade has a strong distal taper so as the bring the weight back into the handle. Ancient woolly mammoth ivory scales are set on the distal tapered tang. The ivory, which is over 20,000 years old, combines cream and caramel tones.
This knife is numbered 1102. Exceptional work throughout!
