Description: Bob Lay's knives are in high demand by both collectors and users. His designs are well thought through and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship.
This is a very rare small sized bowie by Bob Lay. In the many years that I have been selling Bob's knives, I have seen very few damascus knives from him … and the results are well worth the wait. This small bowie is a great choice for a utility knife or a hunter, but will also feel at home in any collection.
The damascus blade is formed from Damasteel stainless damascus. The bold pattern is immediately captivating and will hold a high performance edge. It is tempered to 59 Rc for optimal edge retention and strength.
The stacked handle is formed from dyed and stabilized box elder with a front spacer formed from reconstituted lapis. Alternating black fiber and stainless spacers assist the handle to adjust to humidity and temperature changes. Accompanied by certificate from the maker, a tooled leather sheath, and a cordura storage pouch.
