Description: There is something about a traditional shave, lathered with a badger fur bristles that can't help but make a person feel pampered.
The handle of this unique handmade shaving brush is made from rare Stellar's Sea Cow bone and is finished with a brass pommel. Steller's sea cow (Hydrodamalis gigas) is an extinct, large sirenian mammal formerly found near the Asiatic coast of the Bering Sea. It was discovered in the Commander Islands in 1741 by the German naturalist Georg Steller, who was traveling with the explorer Vitus Bering. Through an unfortunate combination of being slow, large, and good tasting, by 1768, less than 30 years after it had been discovered, Steller's sea cow was extinct.
The bristles are silvertip badger, which is the very highest quality specification for badger bristle. The bristle heads were made for John by Progress Vulfix Company located on the Isle of Man -- a company with over seventy years experience. The brushes can be used on a daily basis and will likely endure for thirty or more years.
The bristles measure approximately 2 1/4 inches in length.
Simply the best!
