Description: Dana Hackney is an up and coming maker with extreme promise. His sense of design is exceptional and only matched with his level of attention to detail.
Dana began by hand forging the blade from O1 carbon steel. The drop point design results in an extremely functional knife. A slight recurve adds to its cutting ability. Hand satin finished with an appleseed edge and distal taper. A triple temper and differential heat treatment assures a keen, long lasting edge with a soft, supportive spine. Black fiber spacers allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle is nicely rounded and fits comfortably into the hand. The exhibition grade Arizona desert ironwood has warm tones and a swirling grain pattern. The handle is finished off with a nickel silver guard and pins. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
