Description: Dana Hackney is an up and coming maker with extreme promise. His sense of design is exceptional and only matched with his level of attention to detail. It is no surprise that Dana won "Best New Maker" at the 2007 Blade West show with this knife.
This classic utility/hunter has a great feel in the hand. The handle is well rounded and swells elegantly toward the butt. The fiddleback maple handle has light spalting lines moving through the wood that are very captivating. A boar's tusk spacer nicely highlights the bright tones in the fiddleback maple. Fiber spacers help the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The 1080 carbon steel blade has been differentially heat treated, resulting in a strong blade with a keen, long lasting edge. Exceptional fit and finish throughout!
