Description: Mastersmith P.J. Tomes creates utilitarian hunting knives of true perfection. The DH Skinner was originally designed by one of PJ's students, Danny Harsey. Showing that sometimes the teacher learns from the student, PJ continues to call this model his DH Skinner in honor of Danny.
52100 has long been among my favorite carbon steels due to its spectacular edge retention. The satin finished blade and tang are both distal tapered, creating a knife that immediately becomes an extension of your hand when held. The jigged bone used for the scales was jigged by PJ and provides a sure grip. Nickel silver domed pins nicely finish out the handle. Exceptional work throughout.
