Description: I was excited when Mastersmith David Lisch introduced me to Mike Clark Jr. Mike's attention to detail was clearly evident in his exquisite work. Given the level of work, it is no surprise that Mike easily passed his journeyman smith test at the 2019 Blade Show in Atlanta, GA. Visiting with Mike again at this year's Blade Show was a real treat. He had some of his most impressive work to date and I was very excited to be able to offer some of them through BladeGallery.
This elegant san mai utility knife is inspired by Nordic knives. A 1084 carbon steel core is surrounded by A203E. By using carbon steels, Clark ensures a keen, long lasting edge.
The handle is Arizona desert ironwood, set with a hand domed pin. The guard is antique wrought iron. The natural texture is visible on the front. The sides have been polished. An ivory Micarta spacer completes the handle. The knife is lightweight and feels exceptional in the hand.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand stitched leather sheath made by Mike is included.
Excellent work throughout!
