Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kikuo Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. His father ran a small workshop in Seki, grinding blades for production knife makers. Kikuo joined his father's business at 15 years old and learned grinding techniques from his father. Over the years, Kikuo's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
Murakumo is a long-bladed fighting/camp knife that is sure to be a loyal companion wherever life's road brings you. The recurve blade provides a strong, reliable slice. It is hand ground OU-31 stain resistant tool steel (Kikuo’s favorite steel) and features Kikuo's disruptive acid finish. The hamaguri-ba (convex) ground blade ensures a keen, long lasting edge with lots of strength behind it. Jimping on the spine provides a solid thumb purchase.
Black canvas Micarta handle scales are hand contoured for a secure, comfortable grip. A paracord lanyard can easily be installed for added traction.
Accompanied by hand fitted Sunloid KD sheath with DOTS belt clip.
