Description: Arno Bernard Sr. is a maker from South Africa and has been making knives for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) for over 20 years. Living in South Africa has allows him the luxury of using many different exotic handle materials -- some even collected himself.
This large drop point hunter is hand ground Bohler N690 stainless steel. N690 takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground to a high performance edge.
Beautiful stabilized mammoth molar scales are set to the full tang for strength and durability. The massive ancient tooth is extremely dramatic and the scales are nicely matched with each other. Finger grooves in the handle provide a comfortable grip. From skinning, to field processing, to cooking around the campsite, this knife has you covered!
To keep the knife close at hand, a pouch style leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
