Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kikuo Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. He was born in Seki, Japan in 1951. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. Kikuo joined his father's knife grinding business at 15 years old and learned the grinding technique from his father. Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
Betsu-Kamui, meaning River God, is an exceptional knife. This knife will handle anything from skinning game to filleting fish. This will be your go-to knife while working out in the field!
The gracefully upswept blade is OU-31 stain resistant tool steel (Kiku’s favorite steel) with Kiku's signature disruptive acid finish. The hamaguri-ba (convex) ground blade ensures a keen, long lasting edge with lots of strength behind it.
The OD green canvas micarta scales are hand contoured for a secure, comfortable grip. A lanyard can be added at the back of the handle for extra retention.
Accompanied by hand fitted Kydex sheath with DOTS belt clip.
Exceptional work throughout!
