Description: Texas knifemaker Carl Colson's work is meticulously performed. The influence of Loveless, Steve Johnson and John Young is clearly visible in his exceptional knives. This Clip Point Hunter is a model that Colson calls his Texas Hunter. It is a timeless utility style that is extremely comfortable to use.
Colson's Texas Hunter with Stag features a hand ground CPM-154 stainless steel blade. The hollow grind accentuates the dramatic grind lines. By using PM steel, Colson ensures particularly good edge holding. The blade is 3.6 inches of nimble capability -- whether used in the great outdoors or in the city, you'll have a hard time not feeling this knife's tremendous utility.
The guard is 416 stainless steel and nicely offsets presentation grade Arizona desert ironwood scales. This dense wood has a nice mix of warm brown tones and a dramatic figure. A distal tapered tang ensures perfect balance. Black fiber spacers assist the stag to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle is hand contoured for a very comfortable, secure grip.
Exceptional work throughout. This knife will feel equally comfortable being used or as a prized knife in a collection.
