Description: This Kiridashi from Italian knifemaker Denis Mura is a fantastic EDC utility. The knife can be easily carried in the front pocket using the included leather sheath. The razor sharp blade is perfect for many tasks from opening boxes to whittling wood.
The Kiridashi is a traditional wood carving knife, widely used in Japan. Whether used as a marking knife or to carve wood, kiridashi are used by almost all Japanese carpenters. It is a versatile tool for general use. Translated to English, 'kiridashi' means 'to carve out' in Japanese.
The blade is N690 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
Red stingray covers the full tang and is wrapped with nylon cord using a traditional Japanese technique. The handle accommodates a three finger grip. The paracord culminates in a brass skull bead.
The knife includes a custom leather sheath made by Kiara Meucci. The detailed tooled sheath depicts the grim reaper on the front.
Excellent work throughout!
