Description: Dawson Knives was started in 1973 by Barry Dawson after completing his tour of duty in Vietnam. Today, three generations of his family help him run the company. Dawson knives are handcrafted in the USA and come with a lifetime warranty. The Dawson Select line represents their line of higher end knives, that also often includes one-off builds. This Wharncliffe Utility has been meticulously cared for in a private collection. It is in new condition and by all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The 4-3/4 inch wharncliffe blade is damascus forged from 52100, 15n20, and nickel to provide excellent edge holding. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. Jimping along the spine provides traction and moves into vine pattern filework. A clear Cerakote finish helps protect the blade from rust and oxidation.
Handle scales are presentation grade snakewood set to the full tang with three mosaic pins. Snakewood is highly desirable for its warm red tones and elegant snakeskin-like patterning. The handle is hand contoured to provide a comfortable grip.
To keep the knife close at hand, a custom leather sheath is included.
