Description: This remarkable folder is the work of South African bladesmith Bertie Rietveld. Bertie is a true artisan knifemaker, a master of his craft, with a genuine originality in his designs. He has been making knives since 1979 and has been forging damascus since 1990. He is a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa and is a full member of the AKI.
The N690 stainless steel blade is hand ground and features a hand rubbed satin finish. N690 takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is easily opened by either a right-handed or left-handed user with three inlaid 'Dellana dots'. It has smooth action with a half stop.
African blackwood handle scales are set on titanium liners. The handle is completed with a textured and anodized titanium finial.
The knife is accompanied by a brown leather pocket pouch.
Exceptional work throughout!
