Description: Willem was honored as a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) in May of 2007. His attention to detail is clearly evident in his knives. His fit and finish rivals that of the best makers found anywhere.
The blade is perfectly centered with silky smooth drop shut action -- easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous front flipper toggle. It uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play. Jimping on the inobtrusive front flipper tab makes the knife particularly easy to deploy.
The blade is hand ground from Carpenter's CTS-XHP stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This premium US-made steel is a new air hardening, high carbon, high chromium, corrosion resistant alloy. The steel maintains excellent edge retention along with great chip resistance. A hollow grind provides an easy to maintain edge.
Handle scales formed from carbon fiber are set on anodized titanium liners. The liners surround a carbon fiber backbar. Terraced zirconium pivot collars surround the pivot. The black Titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
