Description: Franck Souville is a knifemaker and blacksmith from Montgesoye, France. He produces forged fixed blades as well as slipjoints and friction folders both in modern and classic styles. This Bad Guy model is a perfect example of a modern twist on a classic slip joint style folder.
The broad clip point blade is flat ground from premium RWL-34 stainless steel. RWL 34 is a powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by ERASTEEL in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is made from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strength and resistance to chipping. A hand rubbed satin finish adds an heirloom quality to the blade.
The blade can be easily opened using the oversized nail nick. The action is smooth and the blade snaps firmly into place. It is perfectly centered. There is no doubt this slip joint will be up to heavier duty tasks than most other slip joints.
Handle scales are made from jigged black G10. The left scale is inlaid with Souville's skull icon. Orange G-10 liners provide an excellent contrast to the black scales. A leather lanyard and textured bead are included with the knife.
Excellent work throughout from a maker rarely seen in the US!
