Description: This elegant Swedish Utility was handmade by Mihkel Eklund in Färila Sweden. Eklund is well known for his handmade knives and engraving. This knife has been in a private collection and is in excellent condition.
The hollow ground blade is hand ground from high performing AEB-L stainless steel. Many knifemakers and metallurgists feel that AEB-L, with its small crystalline size, tremendous edge stability and toughness, is among the best stainless steels used in knifemaking today. AEB-L was developed for razor blades with a very fine grain structure making it easy to sharpen while maintaining good edge holding capabilities.
Spalted ash handle scales are set on a full tang for strength and durability. The tang is distal tapered for perfect balance. Dark spalting lines travel across the light toned background. Brass bolsters are dovetailed to the scales for a perfect fit. Both the bolsters and brass hidden bolt rivets are meticulously hand engraved by Eklund.
The knife is accompanied by hand stitched custom leather sheath with belt swivel.
