Description: Handmade by Jim Arbuckle, this 8 inch fillet knife is perfect for processing fish at home in the kitchen or throw it in the tackle box and you have a reliable companion out in the field. The thin, upswept blade will handle anything from trout to king salmon.
The blade is made from high performing, low care 154CM stainless steel and has an heirloom quality hand-rubbed satin finish. It was hardened and triple tempered to Rc 59-60 for excellent edge retention. The nimble blade is distal tapered to lighten it and create a perfect balance.
Hawkeye Dymondwood handle scales have a very deep choil (cut-out) for the forefinger to rest in. This makes the knife easy to hold – even with slippery, wet hands. The grips are secured with nickel silver pins. Dymondwood scales were chosen for its durability and ability to hold up to the hard demands of saltwater. The scraper at the end of the handle is shaped to be optimal for cleaning along the spine of salmon and other large fish.
Arbuckle included an 8 inch edge guard to protect the knife during storage.
