Description: Swedish knifemaker Roland Stromberg creates exceptionally dramatic traditional Swedish Puukko. This one has been in a private collection since it was made in 2001. It has never been used to cut and is in near-new condition. There is some very light scuffing in the damascus that takes considerable effort to locate. This is a tremendous example of Stromberg's work, which regrettably rarely gets to the US.
The blade was forged to shape by renowned Swedish bladesmith Mattias Styrefors. A twist pattern spine and cutting edge were forged from 20C and 15N20 carbon steels, ensuring exceptional edge holding. A central bar of linear damascus adds contrast.
The handle is formed from presentation grade sallow root. Sterling silver spacers add excellent contrast. Thin red and white fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle swells at the center for a comfortable, secure grip.
A single seamed traditional Swedish leather sheath completes this dramatic package.
Exceptional work throughout!
