Description: Bozeman bladesmith Maverik Murdock is an up-and-coming maker to watch. This young bladesmith's attention to detail and devotion to the craft is clearly evident in his work. Murdock's knives are inspired by faith and family. His maker's mark shows his initials surrounding a stylized person in prayer.
The large kukri influenced chopper is forged from 52100 carbon steel. Many knifemakers (including the likes of Bill Burke, Ed Fowler, Bob Kramer, and more) and knife users consider 52100 to be among the best, if not the best steel used in modern knifemaking. 52100 takes a super-sharp, long lasting edge. It has tremendous resilience and strength. Because this knife is made from carbon steel, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust. An antiqued finish adds an heirloom feel to the blade. The spine has been fileworked and offers great thumb purchase.
The handle is sculpted from black G10 secured using a textured bronze pin. The guard is made from case hardened and blackened mild steel. A textured bronze spacer adds a touch of contrast to the contoured black handle.
A hand tooled leather sheath is included to keep the knife close at hand. This knife will keep you ready for any outdoor adventure.
Excellent work throughout!
