Description: Florida knifemaker Schuyler Lovestrand is one of the best and most talented fixed-blade masters in knife making today. He is a master at the grinder. A long time Knifemaker's Guild Member, Lovestrand has been making knives for more than 17 years and currently has an 18 month waiting list. Many people try to catch him at shows, but since he only attends one a year that's not as easy as it sounds!
This dramatic Schuyler Lovestrand Trailing Point Hunter has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
The blade is CPM-154 stainless steel. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality to this exceptional knife. At 3.9 inches, the blade is a perfect size for cleaning all sorts of game. Filework at the thumb rest and a deep choil provide excellent control when choking up.
The handle is formed from ancient wolly mammoth tooth. The ancient molar is nicely polished for a comfortable grip. Alternating stainless steel and red fiber spacers create a nice contrast and assist the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stiched pouch style leather sheath.
Exceptional work throughout from one of the great American knifemakers.
