Description: Mastersmith P.J. Tomes doesn't make as many knives has he used to, so I was extremely pleased when he called to let us know he had just completed some new knives that were coming our way.
Tahchee BowieCreated in the style of the famed "Tahchee" knife, Mastersmith PJ Tomes has created a great gent's Bowie. Tahchee was a Cherokee warrior from the mid 1800s. He was born in 1790 in what is now central Alabama and was the son of a Cherokee chief named Shyuko. He carried a classic guardless coffin hilt Bowie knife. His image with his bowie was captured in an old lithograph.
Mastersmith Tomes hand forged the blade from 52100 carbon steel, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge. The 6.4 inch blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered, creating a perfect balance.
Five hand domed stainless steel pins set the stabilized curly maple scales on the distal tapered full tang. The domed handles provide a sure, comfortable grip.
This bowie is accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
