Description: Styled after the knives of William Scagel (one of the best known makers of the early 20th century), this classic boot dagger has everything that you would expect from ABS Mastersmith P.J. Tomes. The fit throughout is excellent, from the soldered guard to the spacers and handle material.
P.J. hand forged the blade from 52100 carbon steel. This high performing steel is considered to be among the best steels (if not the very best) by many knifemakers and knife users. Makers such as Mastersmiths Bill Burke, Bob Kramer, and Ed Fowler have pioneered this long edge holding steel. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. P.J.'s mark is on the right side of the blade and MS USA is on the left side.
The handle combines a column of natural stag with stacked black fiber and steel spacers. The ambidextrous handle feels comfortable in any grip. At only 4 ounces, you can carry this with you and not feel it until it's needed. A 416 stainless steel guard finishes the handle.
To keep the knife close at hand, a brown pouch style leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
