Description: This one-of-a-kind folder was handmade by renowned South African knifemaker Neels Roos. It is a tremendously elegant knife with terrific fit and finish throughout! The combination of maple burl, highly controlled mosaic damascus and Damasteel set this apart as a truly unique and exceptional folder.
The blade was hand ground from Hakkapella pattern stainless damascus by Damasteel. It culminates a raised harpoon tip. At 58 Hrc, it is sure to have a keen, long lasting edge. The hollow ground blade is well centered with smooth action. It is easily flicked out with the inobtrusive front flipper tab. With a little practice, the front flipper can be easily used with either your forefinger or thumb.
Stabilized and dyed maple burl handle scales meet with gun blued mosaic damascus bolsters. The mosaic damascus for the bolsters was forged by Ettore Gianferrari. The mosaic pattern is intricate and highly controlled. Gianferrari is considered among the best damascus makers in the world and is regrettably very close to retirement. Blue/purple anodized grade 5 titanium liners surround an N690 stainless steel backbar. The backbar is etched.
Exceptional work throughout!
