Description: South African knifemaker, Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail. For the last couple years, he has been making folders as well as fixed blades and the results have been incredible.
The hand rubbed, satin finished blade is formed from N690 stainless steel, created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The spine of the knife has been hand fileworked into an elegant vine pattern to create a secure thumb purchase.
The blade is easily opened with one hand using the right-handed thumbstud. It uses a caged bearing pivot system that creates exceptional action with no blade play. Disengage the locking liner and the blade drops shut effortlessly. The blade is perfectly centered.
Green/black carbon fiber scales meet elegantly with black G-10 bolsters. The textured scales provide excellent grip. Blue anodized titanium liners surround a dark green G10 back spacer which keeps the knife light and fast. A blue anodized titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry. This elegant folder will make a perfect gent's EDC.
Excellent work throughout!
