Welcome, Guest
Prior to becoming a knifemaker, Scott Gallagher worked in plumbing and air conditioning for over four decades. In 2014, Scott was introduced to knifemaking – and he has never looked back. A friend, Amy Coleman, introduced Scott to Mastersmith John White. White inspired Scott to take his first introductory class in knifemaking. Gallagher quickly learned the ins and outs of producing quality field-use and collector grade knives. Scott is currently a full time custom knifemaker.
Scott was honored as journeyman smith with the American Bladesmith Society in 2016. He won the prestigeous Judge James Pilkington Award for Best Knife Submitted by a Journeyman Smith Applicant. In February 2018, he won Best Damascus and Best Art Knife at the Arkansas Knife Show.
Journeyman Smith Scott Gallagher uses only the finest natural materials, including presentation grade woods, stag, and ancient ivory. These are combined with high performance, hand forged steel. Every element of the knife is made by Gallagher, including the blade, fittings, and the handle. Scott takes deep pride in putting all his attention to every single knife – he only works on one knife at a time. Even the engraving is done by Scott.
