Description: Hazel Margaretes is a tremendously talented metal artist living in Seattle. Her work shows tremendous skill and an artistic vision.
This Kiridashi is formed from textured 1084 carbon steel and features a razor sharp, near-infinite edge. The flat grind is satin finished, which nicely offsets the gun blued finish. The single bevel edge makes this knife a perfect utility knife for detailed cuts. This Kiridashi is made with a right bevel, which is traditionally used by right handed users in Japan. Many Western woodworkers find that having both a left and right oriented bevel helps for more precise carving.
Excellent work throughout!
