Description: Journeyman Smith Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in his country. His attention to detail and fine design aesthetic is clearly apparent in this elegant and high performing fighter. Bruce was honored as an ABS journeyman smith in June 2011.
This clip point hunter features a 5-1/4 inch damascus blade hand forged to shape. The high performing feather pattern damascus is immediately captivating and stunningly beautiful. A slight recurve ensures aggressive cutting.
The stainless steel guard is precision fit to the blade. Alternating black fiber and copper spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The handle is formed from presentation grade red morrel burl. Red morel Eucalyptus longicornis is a mallee that is native to Western Australia. The warm red tone and convoluted figure make it particularly desirable. The handle is nicely carved for a secure, comfortable grip.
The knife can be kept close at hand with the hand tooled pouch style leather sheath.
Excellent work throughout!
