Description: This Willem Steenkamp custom Havoc EDC liner lock is a flipper design and a fantastic utility folder. The clip point modified tanto blade and ergonomic handle are perfectly designed for the task at hand.
Willem was accepted as a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) in May of 2007. His attention to detail is clearly evident in his knives.
The 3.6 inch blade is made from stainless damascus forged by Chad Nichols. Nichols is well known for his tremendous control over the patterns and this one shows off his work well. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The damascus pattern is bold in the grinds and subtle in the mirror polished flats.
The blade is well centered and the action silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the ambidextrous flipper toggle. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The handle is made from carbon fiber. The bolster is formed from matching stainless damascus. The clip and backbar are both made from titanium. The anodized pocket clip is mounted right-handed tip-up carry.
Exceptional work throughout!
