Description: Canadian knifemaker Bob Lay's designs are well thought through and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. Warm tones in the copper nicely highlight rich warm tones in both the box elder burl spacer and emerald maple handle. This Classic Hunter is particularly rare. I have never before seen Bob use fittings made from copper, and the results are spectacular.
By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob creates a knife with grind lines that are very dramatic. The premium CPM154 was hardened to Hrc 59. This powdered metallurgical steel has a smaller grain structure allowing the blade to be keener and hold the edge longer.
Accompanied by certificate from the maker, hand tooled leather sheath, and a Cordura storage pouch.
