Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kiku Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. His father runs a small workshop in Seki, grinding blades for production knife makers. Kiku joined his father's business at the age of 15 and learned grinding technique from his father. Kiku's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
The karambit is originally from the Indonesian archipelago and has found its way throughout South East Asia. Primarily used in the ancient world as a do-it-all knife, the modern renditions of this versatile tool has steadily gained popularity and respect within the tactical world of knives in recent years. The dramatic shape, finger hole and exotic manipulation has captivated collectors, martial blade practitioners and knife enthusiasts alike.
Kiku's Talon Karambit pays homage to classic karambit elements. The D2 semi-stainless steel blade is flat ground for strength and durability. Jimping along the spine ensures a secure, comfortable grip. The sculpted black micarta scales are comfortable and provide a superbly secure grip. An easily concealable, whirlwind of punishment ready for any questionable "social situation" you may unexpectedly be confronted with. Kiku Matsuda brings this design to life with understated beauty and simplicity.
Accompanied by a Kydex sheath.
