Description: Captain Koyama's designs are truly innovative. He designs and develops his knives with unique locking mechanisms that immediately capture the imagination. This one features an opening mechanism controlled by the push button. The blade is easily opened using the knurled thumb stud. To close the blade, the button above the pivot is pressed. Koyama-san calls this mechanism a Pool-Lock.
The damascus blade is formed from stainless steels forged around a VG10 stainless steel core. This combination provides exceptional edge holding and durability.
C-Tek scales are set on anodized titanium liners. C-Tek Resin infused aluminum honeycomb is a material that has been "in the works" since 1995. The material is absolutely stunning in its appearance and its ability to reflect light and gives a whole new depth to the knife making art. Stainless damascus bolsters are extremely dramatic. A carbon fiber backbar keeps the knife light and durable. A heat colored titanium pocket clip is mounted for right handed, tip-down carry.
Nice work throughout on a very creative knife!
