Description: Captain Koyama's designs are truly innovative. He designs and develops his knives with unique locking mechanisms that immediately capture the imagination. This one features an opening mechanism controlled by the push button. The blade is easily opened using the knurled thumb stud. To close the blade, the button above the pivot is pressed. Koyama-san calls this mechanism a Pool-Lock.
The damascus blade is formed from stainless steels forged around a VG10 stainless steel core. This combination provides exceptional edge holding and durability.
Kirinite scales are set on anodized titanium liners. Kirinite is a super-tough next-generation acrylic. It is slightly "grippy" and so makes a perfect knife handle. A carbon fiber backbar keeps the knife light and strong. A carbon fiber pocket clip is mounted for right handed, tip-down carry.
Nice work throughout on a very creative knife!
