Description: Journeyman Smith Michael Olive lives in the Ozarks. Michael has been making knives for over 20 years. His work has tremendous integrity of design. Though this hunter would be a good choice for most any collection, it is so comfortable in the hand, that it will be a tremendous temptation not to take it out on your next hunting trip. From there, it is sure to become a knife that won't leave your side.
Michael began this clip point hunter by hand forging the damascus blade. 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels were forged to shape to create the bold pattern.
The 416 stainless steel guard is hand satin finished and perfectly fit to handle and blade. The handle is formed from a single piece of Arizona desert ironwood. The wood has tremendous swirling figure and is carved for a very comfortable grip. The full handle swells to fill the palm, moves into a slimmer waist and swells again at the end of the handle.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched pouch style leather sheath made by Michael's wife, Synthia.
Exceptional work throughout!
