Description: Will Stelter is an up-and-coming, young bladesmith (17 years old!) from Western Washington. He began making knives in January of 2014 and has been forging since August of 2016. Even without considering his age, his skill, attention to detail, and fit are exceptional!
The clip point blade was forged from Will's own Feather Pattern damascus. Will forged the steel at Salem Straub's shop and forged it to shape at his home forge. By using 15N20 and 1080 carbon steels, Will ensures that the knife will have a keen, long lasting edge. The damascus shows tremendous control at the forge. Countless barbs radiate from a central quill.
The bolster is formed from antique wrought iron. The sides show the natural texture inherent to the wrought iron. The front face is hand textured.
The cocobolo handle is nicely shaped for a sure, comfortable grip -- swelling at the palm, moving into a slimmer waist and growing again at the end. A central copper pin brings out warm tones in the cocobolo.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
