Description: Ryuichi (Dew) Hara is the 41 year old son of renowned knifemaker Koji Hara. Dew grew up in a knife family and naturally got involved with the knifemaking by helping his father and learning his techniques. Koji Hara is well known for create art knives with tremendous precision and detailed inlays. After working in his father's workshop for over 20 years, Dew decided to create his own knives.
Raikiri is a tactical EDC that shows Ryuchi Hara's tremendous sense of design and skill. The handle material is Duralumin, which is a strong, hard, lightweight alloy of aluminum used in aircraft construction. It was patented in 1909 by Alfred Wilm, a German metallurgist and was originally made only at the company Dürener Metallwerke at Düren, Germany. (The name is a contraction of Dürener and aluminum). Dew chose ATS-34 stainless steel for the blade. The acid washed blade is easily opened using the ambidextrous flipper mechanism. The blade runs on bearings has silky-smooth movement.
The scales have been machined for a futuristic appearance. They are slightly domed for a very comfortable grip. Red anodized Duralumin accents create a perfect contrast. The interior of the backbar is marked "05" for Prototype #5. The pocket clip is very low profile, enhancing the comfortable grip.
The knife is accompanied by a braided paracord lanyard, certificate from the maker, kimono fabric case, and storage box.
