Description: Mastersmith Daniel Winkler created the Winkler II line in 2010. It is an alternate approach to an established tradition. Winkler Knives II is the result of processes Daniel Winkler developed over the past few years in order to provide axes and knives to teams within United States Army Special Operations and US Naval Special Warfare. Each piece in this collection bears the Winkler Knives II touchmark. This special edition design is exclusive to BladeGallery!
The Native is designed to be the perfect everyday carry fixed blade. Whether you're an avid camper, an experienced outdoorsman, or just someone who needs to rely on a blade that won't fail, this is the knife you've been waiting for!
The stout 3-1/2 inch blade is made from 80CrV2 carbon steel with a non-glare Caswell finish. A full distal tapered spine and tang offers perfect balance. Filework along the spine provides a sure thumb purchase.
A stained curly maple handle is set on the full tang and is completed with a lanyard hole.
The handle depicts a NW Native falcon in flight. The falcon is revered for its speed and strong predatory technique. Falcons are among the fastest birds on the planet, with speeds recorded at over 200 miles per hour. They manage this astonishing speed by entering into a freefall dive by tucking in their feet and wings. The dive bombing falcon kills not simply by sheer force of impact, but by strategically punching with its clenched foot before impact.
The versatile Kydex sheath can be worn vertically or horizontally for right- or left-hand draw with simple adjustments.
