Description: This hunting knife by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives by other makers. The hand forged, antiqued carbon steel blade is nicely complemented by the natural sambar stag handle -- which feels so good that you won't want to put it down.
The blade is forged from steel recovered from an antique lumber saw blade -- an extremely tough steel with very good edge holding. A differential heat treatment of the blade ensures a great combination of hardness and toughness.
The wrought iron for the fittings was forged from an 1800s era anchor chain. The handle is a solid piece of sambar stag. Sambar of this quality has become increasingly difficult to come by. Accompanied by a two ply, wet formed, hand stitched cowhide sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
