Description: Renowned Japanese knifemaker Kikuo Matsuda has been grinding blades for over 40 years and is a 5th generation knife grinder. His unique, dramatic grinds are well known throughout the knife industry. Kikuo has been making knives since he was 15 years old and learned grinding techniques from his father. Kikuo's skill at the grinder has become legendary.
Garuda is Kikuo's famous multi-ground fighting knife. It features a recurved, hollow ground blade moving into a Hamaguri-ba (convex) grind toward the tip. The spine as a long false edge and fileworked thumb ramp for a secure grip. This knife is the companion piece to Raijin and Fujin. Fujin is a God of Wind, and Raijin is a God of Thunder. This massive knife easily brings on the full power of Garuda, the mount of Lord Vishnu.
Hand contoured, multi-layered G10 scales are set on the substantial full tang. The end of the tang comes to a very formidable point and features a lanyard hole.
A hand fitted Kydex sheath with Tek-Lok belt device accompanies the knife.
