Description: This large bowie knife by Raymond Richard has an ageless sense of grace that is rarely found in knives by other makers.
The long, clip point blade features a hamon, or differential heat treatment line. Prior to quenching, the blade's spine was coated in layers of clay to insulate it. This results in a soft, supportive spine, with a keen, long lasting edge. The undulating heat treatment line is a style called a hamon.
Both the guard and pommel are formed from antique wrought iron forged from an 1800s era anchor chain. The handle is formed from a solid piece of osage orange wood. The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched cowhide sheath.
This is a knife you won't want to put down! Excellent fit and finish throughout.
