Description: When it comes to making big knives that work for a living, there is none better than Mikkel Willumsen. As a full-time custom knifemaker from Copenhagen, Denmark, Mikkel’s style, which he calls "Urban Tactical," has gained a lot of notoriety. This knife is a Hummer built like a tank.
The blade is CPM154 stainless steel -- one of the "super-steels." This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! The blade has a "rock tumble finish" and has a stout pseudo-tanto shape with a definitely aggressive geometry. A distinguishing feature of this knife is the way the blade opens and locks into place at a cant. This gives it a crescent shape rather than pointing straight out from the handle. The provides not only a very unique look, but offers either an ergonomic pistol grip or an excellent reverse grip. This knife uses the IKBS system, an internal ball bearing system which ensures a smooth opening. A flipper offers a one handed operation, as well as acts as a hilt in the open position.
The handle is comprised of three materials. A titanium frame is the backside, which doubles as the framelock. A textured black G-10 scale with a sculpted carbon fiber inlay is the opposite side. A titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry. A tremendously lightweight knife for its size, yet overbuilt for serious use!
