Description: South African knifemaker Willem Steenkamp has been a member of the South African Knifemakers Guild since 2007. This knife has been in a private collection since it was made by Willem in 2011, and is in immaculate condition. Based on appearance, it could have been made yesterday.
The leaf blade and backbar are made from hand fileworked ladder pattern damascus forged from carbon steels. A single right-handed thumbstud allows for easy one-handed open.
Cream colored warthog tusk bolsters complement tamboti wood scales by bringing out the warmer tones in the wood and the mother of pearl inlays. Titanium liners are anodized to a rich bronze and jeweled on the interior for an aesthetic touch.
Nice work throughout!
