Description: This is a very rare example of D'Holder's work. It has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. It is in new condition and appears to never have been used to cut. The fit and finish are exceptional.
The ATS-34 stainless steel blade has been meticulously hollow ground and mirror polished. The handle is formed from very rare muskox horn. The muskox (Ovibos moschatus) is an Arctic mammal of the family Bovidae. Muskoxen primarily live in Arctic North America and Greenland, with small populations in Sweden, Siberia and Norway. The world population is estimated at between 80,000 and 125,000. The convoluted, translucent figure is immediately captivating. Muskox is among the rarest handle material used by knifemakers. The knife feels great in the hand - a swell at the palm makes it very comfortable in a variety of hand-holds. Front and back bolsters nicely surround the hand protecting you during use. Red fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
The knife is accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath with a fancy concho. Exceptional work throughout!
