Description: Raymond Richard's designs have a timeless grace about them that comes from a family heritage of knifemaking and the inclusion of rare and unusual vintage materials. His Oosic Hunter captures the spirit of a time gone by - yet has the excellence one expects from a contemporary knifemaker
This drop point utility hunter has a great feel in the hand, well balanced and nimble. The blade has been clay tempered resulting in a distinctive hamon (heat treatment line). This type of heat treatment means the knife keeps an astonishingly hard and keen edge while the spine remains supple and supportive. The blade is completed with an antiqued satin finish and choil.
The fossil oosic handle is comfortable in the hand and nicely rounded. The tawny tone of the oosic has some darker ticking and has been polished to a luster, enhancing the grain pattern. The guard and butt are forged from wrought iron that is hammer finished and antiqued. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
