Description: Sam Eddleman is a new maker to watch. There's often an element of the fantastic in his knives, with stylistic references to both feudal Japan and the contemporary military. Sam made his first knife in 2008 -- as a knife collector he found that making knives himself was the intuitive next step.
Sam's work is definitely holding its own against the big names! This large kiridashi is an inspired knife from Sam - he enjoys the look of a tanto style blade and this is evident in his interpretation of this traditional Japanese knife. The single bevel blade is made from D2 tool steel, hardened to 59-60 Hrc, with a secondary bevel for a stronger edge. The clean grind line is accentuated by bead blasting the grind and hand satin finishing the flat.
Rayskin is one of the toughest and most elegant materials available for tactical knife handles. The red rayskin provides a stunning contrast set beneath black nylon wrap. Combined, these two materials ensure a secure, comfortable grip. Excellent work throughout!
