Description: Gary Rodewald's knives are consistently excellent. He combines elegance and ferocity with perfect implementation.
The W2 carbon steel blade was forged to shape. Gary is an outstanding bladesmith, creating knives with exceptional edge holding as well as exceptional beauty. Prior to quenching, the spine was coated with clay. The resulting differential heat treatment line (known as a hamon) travels across the blade in a gentle, undulating pattern. This technique results in a soft, supportive spine and a long lasting edge, as well as a stunning detail to the blade's finish. A swedge results in a keen, aggressive tip.
The handle is formed from G10 and designed for durability and absolute comfort in the hand. It is nicely sculpted to swell at the palm and pommel. A stainless steel guard and pin finish the piece perfectly. Exceptional work throughout!
