Description: Mastersmith Jerry Lairson has amazing integrity in his designs and skill in his implementation. The hand satin finished blade in this outstanding Kukri was forged to shape from 5160 carbon steel. The Kukri, which was used in battle and hunt by the Gurka people, was worn proudly. They honor it as a special weapon which contains a spirit of its own.
The long, L shaped blade is perfectly balanced for a strong swing. The thickest part of the blade is about half way along the spine, bringing the weight toward the tip. The polished edge is razor sharp. A handle is formed from sheep horn, set on a full, distal tapered tang. Textured stainless rivets secure the grips. Accompanied by a hand stitched leather sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
